Discover Arusha National Park
Arusha National Park is one of Tanzania’s most diverse and scenic national parks, located at the foothills of Mount Meru in northern Tanzania. Although it is one of the smaller parks in the country, it offers a wide variety of landscapes including lush montane forests, open savannahs, volcanic craters, and beautiful alpine scenery.
The park is famous for Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second-highest mountain, which provides a challenging trekking experience and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days. Arusha National Park is also home to the unique Ngurdoto Crater, often called the “Little Ngorongoro,” as well as the picturesque Momella Lakes, which attract flocks of flamingos and other bird species.
Wildlife in the park is diverse and includes giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, colobus monkeys, and many bird species. Unlike many other parks, Arusha National Park allows visitors to enjoy walking safaris and canoeing experiences, making it a more interactive and intimate wildlife destination.
With its close proximity to Arusha city, rich biodiversity, and variety of activities, Arusha National Park is an excellent introduction to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.
